HIGHLIGHTS:
Labor Day Weekend - Library Closed September 6 & 7
RADical DAYS - September 27 - October 11
RADical Days is an annual event celebrating the regional assets with free admission to musical and dance performances and family activities offered by arts and culture organizations, parks and recreation, and sports and regional attractions that are funded by RAD ( The Allegheny Regional Asset District ).
What is RAD?
What does the library do with it's RAD funds?
To name just a few: Free Internet access and email, color copier, services for people with disabilities, book discussion groups for all, homework support, summer reading clubs for all ages, annual pet show, readers theatre, music on CD, puppets, play scripts, storytime to go kits, discovery series, computer lessons, Valueline and Morningstar, Consumer Reports, circulating encyclopedias, foreign language conversation groups, vacation bags, videos and dvds, babysitter's bags, Battle of the Books, interlibrary loans, and more....
HELP US END OUR FUNDING NIGHTMARE

Your help is still needed! To avoid having to eliminate needed services, we have made it easy for you to contact state legislators by supplying the stationery, pens, and talking points. You write it, we’ll stamp it and mail it! Look for the stationery and the basket to put your letters in on the long table right in front of the Reference Desk.

If you’re better at speaking than writing, please use the telephone at the Circulation Desk to call Harrisburg and tell John Pippy and Matt Smith how concerned you are about library funding. A handy list of talking points is right next to the phone.

LIBRARY TIPS:
Specific tips on how to get the most out of your library.
The Library no longer has a notebook with a list of new DVDs. Instead, we can show you how to create your own list of new DVDs, by date of release, by actor, actress, or director, or by rating, such as PG-13.
