LIBRARY BUZZ:
Library announcements, programs & event highlights, related links, librarian comments

Greetings--
We just learned that one of our patrons and longstanding volunteers, Nancy Smith will be honored this fall as one of the
Municipality's "This Town...." outstanding citizen award. We know how much
she does for the library gardens as well as the community. We are delighted by this recognition of
her volunteer work.

We received today a handsome citation from the PA House of Representatives, sponsored by Matt Smith, to recognize the library for the Best Practices Award we received from the Pennsylvania Library Association this year. As you may recall, the award is for our "Nationality Night" program for immigrant families (planned and conducted by Judy Sutton and Connie Mathews) and won in the category of "Programming and Services to Children Under the Age of Six."  The citation describes the important work our library does in preschool services, as well as the work we do for the community as a whole. It's quite an impressive citation. We are grateful to Matt for his work on behalf of public libraries and the people they serve. After the library board meeting on September 18 we will display the citation along with others we received for our 75th anniversary on our "awards wall."

Craft Saturdays - bring the family on the 1st Saturdays of every month, 9am-4:30pm, ages 3 and up
