Be Green Blog:  Sharing information about books, programming and other information on sustainability  in the community and greater Pittsburgh area.  Additionally, the blog provides information on the latest books available in the library via Green Reads, as well as our be green book list.  Also included are helpful links for recycling, local foods, green consumerism, energy saving, and other important links on the environment.  Always an interesting read.

Evening Book Group Blog: Identifies contemporary fiction books that have great reviews but may have been missed by readers. The blog provides links with information about authors, author blogs, book reviews,  book groups,  as well as book lists of what the group has read. Makes you want to join the Evening Book Group.

2010 Friends of the Library Scholarship Winnersscholarship winners

Congratulations! To Jenna Barinas and Justin Thakar, winners of the 2010 Friends of the Mt. Lebanon Library Scholarship Awards. Both contributed many, many hours of volunteer work at the library and are now headed for college. Good job!

The Friends of Mt. Lebanon Public Library awards a $1000 scholarship each year to two eligible high school students. For more information and requirements, click here.

Students must complete a minimum of 55 volunteer hours over the prior 12 month period and submit an application with a 500-word essay addressing “How has your volunteerism at Mt. Lebanon Library affected your academic or personal growth?”
