Attention, Genealogists!!  Diane Klinefelter the director of the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and a certified genealogist will discuss the methods and resources for identifying Civil War Ancestors.

The library is home to one of only six extant Grand Army of the Republic Civil War veteran posts remaining.  Diane also served as Librarian and Military Research Specialist at Soldiers and Sailors Museum

Oxford English Dictionary (OED) Online!

Words, words, words!  If you need any information requiring a dictionary, the best and easiest place to look  is the Oxford English Dictionary, available online in the library. From our website, click on Info-Junction, then from the middle column, Mt. Lebanon Library Databases, choose Oxford English Dictionary.  This database is available only in the library itself but if you are already here, you can’t go wrong consulting it for up-to-date information, as it is being constantly revised.

This is a service that allows you to obtain material from libraries throughout the entire United States. When you search the Catalog and discover your item is not available, look at the top of the page and click on Interlibrary Loan.

The 2009 Garden Party was a big hit and the Garden Tour was spectacular! We want to extend a huge thank you to Cil and David McKibben, our Garden Tour Chairs and to Jill Westbrook who organized the Garden Party.
